How to use newer cameras with earlier versions of the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in New releases of the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in are generally only compatible with the current versions of Adobe products. If you use an earlier version of an Adobe product, and you use a camera that requires a later version of the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in, you can use the latest version of the free Adobe DNG Converter to convert your camera raw files to DNG (Digital Negative) files. DNG files can be opened in an Adobe product that supports the Photoshop Camera Raw 2.3 plug-in or later.
