Ilkeston Photo 2000 and Wedding PhotographyIn the course of maintaining the website and running the onsite guestbook I have received one or two messages along the lines of people asking if anyone can recommend or if any members carry out Wedding Photography.
To me this is a tricky subject,weddings are one of those occasions that is,usually,a once in a lifetime event and is unrepeatable.Hence if something goes wrong then a great deal of unhappiness can be generated.
Before I started looking after the club website I used to have a Web Gallery hosted for me by a photographer from the north of england.Although I had no problems with him he moved on to doing wedding photography and finished up on the BBC Watchdog programme after some customers complained about his standard of work.
Again I repeat I had no issues with him and other people may well have had good results from him but the story serves as a warning at what can happen.Parts of the story can be read here For this reason,from now on,please do not contact me if you are seeking wedding photography or recommendations for photographers.My advice is choose someone who has been recommended to you by someone who has actually used the person or choose a professional studio.As of today any messages regarding this issue will,regretfully,go unanswered.
